Our Telemedicine Rotations provide medical students with the opportunity to engage in real-world patient care experiences from any location, under the supervision of board-certified physicians and licensed providers.
Whether you’re preparing for clinical years or seeking elective rotations, our program empowers you with skills and insights aligned with the rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare delivery.
Our telemedicine rotations are structured 4–8 week experiences that simulate the clinical responsibilities of a physician in a digital care setting. Through HIPAA-compliant platforms, students interact with preceptors, observe patient visits, assist in documentation, participate in case discussions, and explore diagnosis and treatment pathways in real time.
Participate in remote patient evaluations
Observe chronic disease management
Understand EMR workflows and SOAP note documentation
Review lab data, imaging, and vitals
Engage in clinical decision-making with physician mentors
Conduct case presentations and topic reviews
Learn tele-triage protocols
Evaluate acute presentations via virtual settings
Develop rapid clinical thinking and prioritization skills
Discuss differential diagnoses, imaging, and treatment plans
Exposure to high-yield emergency cases and algorithmic medicine
Understand EMTALA, remote stabilization, and referrals
Clinical Exposure: Real-time virtual observation and interaction with providers and patients
Documentation Skills: Training in electronic health records and medical notes
Telehealth Etiquette: Learn the best practices in digital bedside manner and virtual engagement
Case Reviews: Participate in daily rounds, team debriefings, and diagnostic discussions
Professional Mentorship: Work one-on-one with physicians experienced in both in-person and remote care
Letter of Recommendation (LOR) eligibility based on performance and engagement
Duration: 4–8 weeks
Mode: 100% Remote
Eligibility:
3rd or 4th-year medical students (clinical phase)
Must be enrolled in a medical school (US or international)
Rotation must be approved by student’s institution
Preceptors: Board-certified physicians in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine
Technology Used: Secure video conferencing, electronic medical record systems, virtual case review platforms
